Unit-Level Evidence at the Ramp
Vehicles change hands many times between the load port and the buyer: carrier, stevedores, port storage, clearing agents, and inland transporters. When damage surfaces without a discharge survey, every one of them points at the next, the carrier’s time bar quietly expires, and the loss settles on you, the party left holding the unit, with no evidence to push it back up the chain. Our surveyors record each unit’s condition at the ramp, against the load-port record where one exists, so responsibility attaches to the leg that caused it, not to whoever is holding the keys when it is found. This page is part of our Africa coverage.
