Before stepping on deck, we verify the vessel’s official hydrostatic data, valid calibration tables, sounding pipe lengths, and trim/list correction tables, so the numbers are right before a single sounding is taken.
Joint physical soundings are taken of all relevant tanks on both the receiving vessel and the supply barge. Temperatures are recorded, and water-finding paste is used to detect unpumpable sludge or water bottoms.
We check that all connections, scupper plugs, and emergency shutdown procedures are in place per international safety standards before authorizing the start of pumping, protecting your asset from spills.

We then strictly apply the API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards (MPMS) and ASTM D1250 Table 54B to convert observed volumes to the accurate mass (Metric Tons) at the standard 15°C, preventing thermal volume inflation.
A significant portion of bunkering in Djibouti occurs via Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfer at the outer anchorage. During certain seasons, the Gulf of Tadjoura experiences pronounced swells, causing the receiving vessel and bunker barge to roll and pitch.

We then apply trim and list corrections taken directly from the vessel’s official hydrostatic stability manuals, so the mathematics hold regardless of sea state.
With strict enforcement of IMO regulations regarding Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) and High Sulphur Fuel Oil (HSFO for scrubber-equipped vessels), the risk of receiving off-spec or non-compliant fuel is a major liability for ship operators.
